How To Avoid Chunking The Golf Ball While Chipping

By July 6, 2015April 27th, 2018Golf

Fiona from Dawesville, Western Australia (a fan of Golf University) has written in on our Facebook Group Page (which you can join) at www.Facebook.com/groups/the19thholeclub saying she has been chunking the ball a lot when chipping and her local pro says it may have something to do with her bounce.

As part of Golf University’s weekly “Tip from the Pro” I videoed Craig Tapp the Head Pro at Meadow Springs Golf and Country Club, in Western Australia where he teaches Fiona and the rest of us:

  • Why we chunk the ball and how to correct it
  • What bounce is and what relevance it has to our Chipping

And …

  • The key to using the bounce to get the ball in the air (think hand position and angle)

Which will ultimately…

  • Stop us chunking the ball while chipping.
