How To Hit A Bump and Run

By July 13, 2015June 10th, 2018Golf

Brian from Barham, New South Wales (a fan of Golf University) has written in to our Facebook Group (which you can join) at www.Facebook.com/Groups/The19thHoleClub saying he has been having some issues with his bump and run; he is flying it, sometimes ending up with a 3 putt coming back to the flag.

As part of Golf University’s weekly “Tip from the Pro” I videoed Mark Bowd, the Head Pro at Murray Downs Golf and Country Club, in New South Wales, where he teaches Brian and the rest of us:

  • The correct stance to use when hitting a bump and run
  • How to distribute your weight for the optimal shot

And…

  • How to grip the club so that we can take out the wrist hinge

Which will ultimately…

  • Allow us to control the club speed when hitting the bump and run.
