How to Read Extreme Breaking Putts

We all know how hard it is putting on a very steep green where there is an extreme amount of break.

As part of Golf University’s weekly “Tip from the Pro” I videoed Head instructor Craig Tapp at The Cut Golf Course in Western Australia where he teaches us:

  • Where to look from when identifying the slope for an extreme breaking green
  • How to judge whether to putt aggressively or defensively

And …

  • The best place to miss, otherwise the ball could fall away – sometimes back at your feet

Which will ultimately…

  • Allow us to get to the hole in less than 3 putts on a very steep green.
