How to Hit Out of Long Fairway Bunkers

By April 30, 2016April 24th, 2018Blog, Golf

Seeing your drive end up in a long fairway bunker isn’t necessarily a catastrophe!

With the right shot, you can even hit straighter and longer and often get to the green from the bunker.

As part of Golf University’s weekly “Tip from the Pro” I videoed Mark Bowd the Head Golf Professional at Murray Downs Golf and Country Club in New South Wales where he teaches us:

  • How to go for the green out of the fairway
  • To hit the ball with a shallow divot

And …

  • How to set up the shot to get the distance and elevation required

Which will ultimately…

  • Help us get out of the fairway bunker and hopefully a lot closer to the green
